Scotiabank Restoration
Project Description
In the spring of 2024, MCL was entrusted with the rehabilitation of Scotiabank’s Ottawa South branch, delivering extensive interior and exterior upgrades while maintaining full branch operations. Exterior work included roofing replacement, masonry repairs with full tinting, reconstructing the accessible concrete ramp and replacing storm grates, curtain walls, windows, parking lot sub-base, asphalt and interlock pavers. Interior upgrades included new vestibule doors, drywall modifications, painting, flooring, blinds and significant mechanical and electrical updates.
MCL expertly managed hydronic piping replacement, coordinating asbestos abatement to ensure staff and client safety, and scheduled out-of-hours power shutdowns with Hydro Ottawa for electrical upgrades. Phased scheduling minimized disruptions, maintaining parking and pedestrian access while adhering to city permits for sidewalk closures and daily dismantling of scaffolding in a busy area.
